Scholarships at University of Regina

University of Regina undergraduate students (including First Nations University of Canada, Luther College, or Campion College) who self-declare Indigenous ancestry (Status or Non-Status First Nation, Métis, or Inuit), have been Saskatchewan residents for at least 12 months, register in at least 12 credit hours in the award semester, demonstrate financial need, and meet academic thresholds (minimum 70% admission average for entering students, or 70% UGPA for continuing students). Preference for Business Administration, Engineering and Applied Science, Arts, and Science. Part of the Crown Investments Corporation Indigenous Bursary Program: $5,000 per academic year, paid in installments. Applicants submit statements on leadership, community service, career goals, and future employment plans in Saskatchewan's Crown corporations or within the province. Apply through U of R SAMS.

Open to University of Regina undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science who have completed at least 53 credit hours (including at least 12 in Computer Science), hold a minimum 80% CGPA, are registered in at least 12 credit hours in the award term, are involved in extracurricular activities, and submit a written statement on personal career objectives. Preference goes to students planning employment in Computer Science after graduation. Two awards of $3,100. Apply through SAMS by October 3.

University of Regina undergraduate students enrolled in any degree program with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 70% may apply. You must be registered with the Centre for Student Accessibility, demonstrate financial need, and remain registered in at least six credit hours in the semester the award is presented. One award of $3,000 is granted. Apply through SAMS when continuing awards open each fall.

Continuing University of Regina undergraduate students in any faculty may receive this scholarship. Applicants must hold full-time status (at least 9 credit hours in each of the fall and winter semesters), be entering year two after completing a minimum of 23 credit hours, remain registered in 9 credit hours in the semester the award is paid, and hold a minimum undergraduate GPA of 75% on courses completed. Two awards of $2,500 are presented annually. Apply through the university's student awards system (SAMS).

University of Regina undergraduate students registered in at least 12 credit hours with a minimum 65% cumulative average and demonstrated financial need may apply for the Grant Mitchell Memorial Bursary through the SAMS fall continuing-awards application. Two bursaries of $1,425 each are awarded. Applicants must show community participation and membership in a co-operative organization or group, with membership documentation supplied.

Open to a student in the Fitness and Lifestyle Area of Concentration or Fitness and Lifestyle major of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies. Preference is given to applicants with volunteer experience in the Dr. Paul Schwann Applied Health and Research Centre cardiac program. One scholarship of $1,400 is awarded annually. Open to University of Regina students registered full time in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies, majoring in Sport and Recreation Management within the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Studies. You need at least 24 credit hours completed, a minimum 70% CGPA, a Saskatchewan high school diploma, and demonstrated involvement in sport or recreation development in Saskatchewan. One award of $1,275 is offered. Apply with a detailed summary of no more than one page explaining your sport or recreation development work in Saskatchewan.

Self-declared Aboriginal University of Regina students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Kinesiology and Health Studies degree program may apply. You must demonstrate leadership in recreation, sport, physical activity, or related fields. One $1,200 award is granted. Preference goes to graduate students, then entering undergraduates, then continuing undergraduates. Apply with a leadership statement and current transcripts. Entering students qualify on admission average with at least nine fall credit hours; continuing students need a minimum 65% CGPA and at least 15 completed credit hours.

University of Regina students who are declared Religious Studies majors with 60 completed credit hours and four Religious Studies courses including RLST 100 are eligible. Recipients need a 70% CGPA, a 75% GPA in RLST and cross-listed courses, and registration in at least 9 credit hours. The scholarship is $1,200. One award is granted annually on the basis of academic excellence and contributions to the university community. Recipients must maintain registration in at least 12 credit hours in each semester of the following academic year.

University of Regina undergraduates enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts, majoring in French and Francophone Intercultural Studies, may apply. Candidates must have completed at least 53 credit hours, be registered in at least 9 credit hours the semester the award is presented, hold a minimum undergraduate GPA of 70%, and demonstrate financial need. One scholarship of $1,100 is awarded.
