Regina Visual Arts BFA letter of introduction
Regina first admits Visual Arts students to the BA. Students seeking the BFA or Visual Arts certificate then complete a separate portfolio review. For that review, the department asks for a short letter introducing the applicant, their interest in studying art, and work they have made. The BA route does not require this BFA review by default.

What to prepare
- 1In about 250 words, explain why you want to study visual arts with this department.
- 2Describe a piece or practice from your portfolio that shows what you enjoy making and what you want to explore next.
- 3If useful, include an artistic goal or relevant challenge without turning the letter into a résumé of every work.
How to approach the writing
- Choose 10–20 recent works for the review and be ready to discuss them with faculty; online applicants also provide an image list.
- Send the letter three days before the scheduled review using the department's requested filename and PDF or DOCX format.
Before you submit
The department describes November and March portfolio reviews but does not post a 2027 appointment date on this page. Arrange a review with the department and confirm its current submission instructions. Regina's ordinary BA Visual Arts entry is a different route.
