Scholarships at Seneca Polytechnic

Seneca Polytechnic full-time Environmental Landscape Management students who show interest or aptitude for golf course groundskeeping may receive the Golf Course Technician Alumni Award. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Ontario residents, and demonstrate financial need. One award of $1,900 is available. The recipient is recommended by faculty.

Full-time graduating Seneca Polytechnic Real Property Administration or Real Property Administration Accelerated students with high standing in Microeconomics and valuable classroom contributions may receive the Association of Ontario Land Economists Award. The award is $1,650 (one award). Faculty nominate the recipient. No separate student application is required.

Seneca Polytechnic nursing program students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Ontario residents, and demonstrate financial need. One bursary of $1,200. Faculty recommends candidates.

Seneca College students from one of 32 Division's priority neighbourhoods (postal codes beginning with M6A or M2N) may apply. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need, and involved in community service or volunteering. One award of $1,000 is granted annually, selected by the Seneca awards committee.

Seneca Polytechnic students may be nominated by any Seneca faculty or staff member. Criteria include a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, significant voluntary assistance to other students, community service beyond Seneca, and strong personal integrity, character, and tenacity. One award of $1,000 plus a commemorative trophy is presented annually. A large trophy with each year's winner is displayed at the college; the winner receives a replica. Letters of nomination go to Student Services. A selection committee with Student Services and Seneca Student Federation Inc. representatives chooses the recipient. The Seneca Student Federation Inc. created the award to honour retired president Stephen E. Quinlan.

Second-year Seneca Polytechnic students enrolled in the School of Biological Sciences and Applied Chemistry may be nominated by faculty. Candidates should show sound academic standing, demonstrated passion and achievement in mathematics, above-average dedication, and compassion. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Ontario residents, with demonstrated financial need. One bursary with a varying amount is awarded. Selection is made by faculty members.

Seneca Polytechnic students of Native ancestry enrolled full-time who have completed their first year with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need may be considered for the Bruce Berman Alumni Bursary. Two bursaries are awarded annually; the amount varies. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons and Ontario residents. Candidates are recommended by the Resolution, Equity, and Diversity Centre.

Seneca Polytechnic students in the School of Media, the School of Creative Arts and Animation, or the Creative Advertising program who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons residing in Ontario with demonstrated financial need may be considered for this award. The amount varies. Faculty recommend a student who produces high-quality work and demonstrates strong understanding of program concepts. Awarded in memory of Seneca professor John Small.

Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons who are Ontario residents enrolled in legal programs at Seneca Polytechnic's School of Legal, Public & Office Administration, including the Office Administration - Legal program. This endowed bursary amount varies. Faculty recommend a recipient who has overcome personal challenges, shown above-average dedication and compassion, and demonstrated financial need. The bursary honours and memorializes Lucia Rossi.
