Scholarships at University of Guelph

Canadian citizens and permanent residents registered full-time at the University of Guelph who have completed a minimum of 4.0 credits and no more than 6.5 credits are eligible. Applicants need demonstrated financial need, a minimum 70% cumulative average in the previous academic year, and a history of sustained community involvement through meaningful service to others. Two awards of $20,000 per year are payable over three years of study. Students must remain registered full-time to receive all payments. The award cannot be held with the President's or Lincoln Alexander Chancellor's Scholarships. Apply by October 7 with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form and the Heaslip Undergraduate Award application. Selection weighs financial need and community involvement equally. Created by Bill and Nona Heaslip through the William and Nona Heaslip Foundation to help students focus on community service rather than full-time work.

University of Guelph students in a Bachelor of Arts (general or honours) majoring in History, or in any program minoring in History, who have completed at least 10.0 credits and HIST*3140 Witch-hunts and Popular Culture may apply. Recipients must also meet the government-mandated terms for an OSOTF access award. One award of $4,000 is available. Apply by October 7 with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form. Selection is based on the highest grade in the previous offering of HIST*3140; ties go to the highest cumulative average. The Scottish Studies Foundation and private donors established the award, with matching funds through the Ontario Student Opportunities Trust Fund.

University of Guelph College of Engineering students registered in an Engineers Canada accredited program who have completed 5.25 to 18.0 credits may apply. Two $1,500 in-course scholarships go to one female and one male student who show engineering leadership through professional development and extracurricular activities. Apply by letter to soe.undergradawards@uoguelph.ca by October 1. Selection is based on high academic achievement and leadership described in your application letter.

Full-time University of Guelph B.Comm. students majoring in Management Economics and Finance or Marketing Management who are in semester 2 or beyond may apply for these bursaries. Two awards of $1,300 each are granted annually. OSOTF eligibility terms apply. Submit a Financial Need Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7 for automatic consideration.

University of Guelph College of Biological Science students registered in any major who have completed at least 10.0 credits and demonstrated financial need may be considered. One award of $1,000 is available to the student with the highest cumulative average. Submit a Financial Need Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7. This OSOTF ACCESS award is not tenable with the Hagen Undergraduate Access Scholarship.

University of Guelph B.Sc.(Agr.) or B.Comm. Agricultural Business students who have completed 7.5 credits with a minimum 70% cumulative average and demonstrated outstanding leadership in the college, university, and community may receive this scholarship by nomination. The award is worth $1,000. One scholarship is granted annually. Nominations from the Student Federation of the O.A.C. are due December 1.

University of Guelph Bachelor of Applied Science students who have completed at least 10.0 course credits, hold a minimum 70% cumulative average, and show community or on-campus club involvement may apply. Preference goes to volunteerism or club work related to the student's field of study. One OSOTF scholarship of $1,000 is available. Apply with a Financial Need Assessment Form by the posted deadline.

For University of Guelph Ontario Agricultural College undergraduates who want to travel to expand their educational opportunities. Several awards of up to $1,000 are available. Apply online via the OAC Travel Grant form. Deadlines are March 15 (May–August travel), July 15 (September–December travel), and November 15 (January–April travel).

University of Guelph School of Landscape Architecture students with demonstrated financial need and a minimum B average in the previous academic year. Recipients must meet the government-mandated terms for an OSOTF award, including Ontario residency and need rules. One bursary of $500. Submit the In-Course Financial Need Assessment Form by October 7.

University of Guelph students in second, third, or fourth year with demonstrated financial need may qualify for these bursaries. Several awards of varying amounts are granted each year. Apply through the university's student finance awards application by the posted deadline.
