Guelph Landscape Architecture Background Information Form
Every Bachelor of Landscape Architecture applicant must submit Guelph's Background Information Form in addition to the university application. The School uses the questionnaire to understand why the applicant chose landscape architecture and what they know about the field; it is different from Guelph's optional Student Profile Form.

What to prepare
- 1Explain what you understand landscape architects to do using a concrete place, project, or environmental question that prompted your interest.
- 2Connect your academic preparation, work, and extracurricular experience to your reasons for choosing the BLA without treating the form as a general résumé.
- 3Describe your university and career goals in the field, keeping them grounded in what you want to learn rather than an unsupported promise of impact.
How to approach the writing
- Draft from the live BLA form: Guelph describes its purpose but does not publish a stable set of exact questions or a word limit on the admissions page.
- Keep the required BLA form separate from the optional Student Profile Form, which serves a different admission review purpose.
Before you submit
Guelph lists February 1, 2027 for the BLA Background Information Form. Check your applicant checklist and the live form for submission details; the optional Student Profile Form has a different April 1 deadline.
