Guelph Bruder Scholarship statement of interest
The Bruder Scholarship is for an entering international student from Latin America or the Caribbean who will pay international tuition at Guelph. Its separate award application asks for a 250-word statement explaining why the chosen program fits the applicant's academic goals, or a recommendation letter from their high school. It is not a general Guelph admission essay.

- 2Connect one experience or interest to the program's actual subject matter within the 250-word limit.
- 3If using the high-school letter route, arrange for a recommender who can explain your academic preparation and fit for the program.
How to approach the writing
- Make the program fit concrete; a broad claim about wanting to study in Canada does not answer the published question.
- Treat the statement and recommendation as alternatives in the award instructions, and follow the choice shown on the live application.
Before you submit
The award listing gives April 1, 2027 as the next deadline and says one new recipient is selected every four years. Confirm that the application is open for your entry term and follow its current statement-or-letter instructions.
