Biomedical Engineering Scholarships

U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing a PhD in the applied physical, biological, or engineering sciences, mathematics, or engineering may apply for the Hertz Graduate Fellowship. Candidates should show exceptional creativity and a commitment to solving major societal problems. Fellows receive up to five years of fellowship funding, plus mentorship and career support. The application includes references and multi-round interviews for selected candidates.

STEM-educated individuals seeking admission to an ABA-accredited U.S. law school who have an interest in advancing racial or ethnic groups underrepresented in the patent law profession may apply. You must hold a college degree in a field qualifying for U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration, plan to apply to or have applied to but not yet enrolled in law school, and demonstrate commitment to a patent law career. Selected Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholars receive up to a $30,000 law school tuition grant plus admissions mentoring and career support during law school. Submit a completed application with transcripts, resume, personal statement, law school admission plans, and optional letters of recommendation and FAFSA by January 31 for assured tuition-grant consideration.

High school seniors and undergraduate women and non-binary students pursuing STEM degrees at U.S. colleges may apply for the Cards Against Humanity Science Ambassador Scholarship. Five winners each receive a $20,000 tuition stipend. Film a three-minute public YouTube mini-lecture explaining a STEM topic you are passionate about. The video must be scientifically accurate with cited sources, creative, and not a personal statement. An advisory board of women and non-binary STEM professionals reviews submissions and selects finalists.

African American residents of Hampton Roads, Virginia with at least a 3.0 GPA who are committed to pursuing a STEM degree may apply for the African American Leadership Society STEM Scholarship administered by United Way of South Hampton Roads. Eligible applicants include high school seniors, currently enrolled college students, and qualifying veterans entering college. Scholarships are worth up to $10,000 toward tuition. The number of awards varies. Women account for at least 50% of recipients, and 25% of awards are designated for first-generation college students. Complete the online STEM application with required materials. Applicants must plan to enroll as a college student majoring in a STEM field. AALS aims to build a pipeline of Black STEM leaders and reduce racial and gender gaps in STEM fields across South Hampton Roads.

Undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, or juniors enrolled full-time at eligible Shell partner universities in specified engineering or geoscience majors may apply. Applicants need a minimum 3.2 GPA. Co-op or part-time enrollment disqualifies applicants. Selected recipients receive $5,000 for one year, renewable up to four years at Shell's discretion.

Women and/or minority students (as defined by EEO categories) who are high school seniors through college juniors and are enrolled or planning to enroll in a U.S. STEM program or related field such as architecture or urban design may apply. A 3.0 GPA is preferred but not mandatory. Special consideration goes to applicants living near an OHM Advisors office. Scholarships are $4,000. The number awarded varies based on applicants. Submit a one-page essay (PDF), two years of transcripts, and apply online during the September through November submission window. The program supports OHM Advisors' commitment to attracting and retaining diverse talent in engineering and design.

Ohio high school seniors (including homeschooled students) who are U.S. citizens with at least a 3.0 GPA and who will enroll in an accredited college or university to pursue a Bachelor of Science in a Goodyear STEM or engineering discipline may apply for Goodyear STEM Career Day Scholarships, funded by Goodyear and The Goodyear Women’s Network. Up to $2,500 is available, with 18 awards. Funds are paid to the student’s financial aid account for tuition, mandatory fees, on-campus housing, and meal plans. If there are no outstanding charges, the scholarship is forfeited; no funds are paid directly to the student.

Undergraduate or graduate students at accredited U.S. colleges who are pursuing STEM fields may apply for the RevPart STEM Scholarship. One winner receives $2,500 and two runners-up receive $500 each. Submit the online application and essay by December 31, 2026.

Students enrolled in a U.S. two-year, four-year, or graduate program pursuing a STEM or healthcare-related field who demonstrate financial need may apply. Previous recipients are ineligible. Nine one-time $2,000 grants support education costs outside tuition, such as conferences, exam fees, and textbooks.

Graduating high school seniors who reside or attend school in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties, with a minimum 2.0 GPA, accepted to a four-year college or university for a STEM major, may apply for the NSBE Greater Philadelphia Professionals Chapter (GPPC) STEM Futures Scholarship. Priority is given to applicants from underrepresented groups (Black/African American, Hispanic, Native American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and/or persons with disabilities). Three $1,000 scholarships are awarded. Recipients must attend the Scholarship Banquet. Complete the application with an official report card or transcript, a college acceptance letter, and a 300 to 500 word essay on one of the posted prompts (academic and career goals, a leadership experience, representation of women and minorities in STEM, or using STEM education to improve society).
