Outstanding Canadian students may apply for postgraduate study at the University of Oxford through the Rhodes Scholarship. Eleven scholarships are available each year across six Canadian regions. Applicants studying in Canada apply based on ordinary residence or the region of their degree-granting university; those studying outside Canada apply in their home region.
The scholarship covers full-time postgraduate study costs at Oxford. Students must first earn institutional certification from their undergraduate university before applying.

No essay requiredAlberta resident individual artists, arts administrators, or artist ensembles working in visual arts or new media may apply at any career stage, including emerging artists. Applicants must meet Alberta residency requirements and may submit only one AFA application per deadline across all disciplines. Grants provide up to $18,000 for a specific project in art production, marketing, research, or training and career development. Deadlines are September 1, 2026 and March 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time through the GATE Front Office system. First-time applicants need a GATE login at least five business days before the deadline. The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, a provincial public agency, supports individual project development across visual and new media practices.
