Johnny Trombly Memorial Scholarship

Applicants age 18 and under who want to study traditional New England contra dance music may apply for the Johnny Trombly Memorial Scholarship from the Monadnock Folklore Society. Preference goes to residents of the Monadnock region of New Hampshire.

Awards of up to $500 cover lessons, mentoring, and music or dance camp fees, not instruments or other tangible items. Quarterly application deadlines are April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1.

The fund was established in 2001 at Bob McQuillen's request and honors Johnny Trombly, a Marlborough, New Hampshire piano player whose style shaped New England contra dance accompaniment.
