Scholarships at Washington University in St. Louis

Partial-tuition merit scholarships for first-year Sam Fox School applicants who submit a digital portfolio with their admission application. Up to five recipients receive ten-thousand-dollar awards renewable for four years while maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Faculty review portfolios during admission and no separate scholarship form is required. Students must apply to the Sam Fox School and include the portfolio as part of their admission materials to be considered for this award tier.

Merit scholarship for up to ten first-year College of Arts & Sciences applicants who submit a writing portfolio with their admission application. Each award provides three thousand dollars per year renewable for four years while the student makes satisfactory academic progress. No separate scholarship application is required beyond applying to Arts & Sciences and submitting the portfolio as part of admission materials. Recipients are selected during the admission review process based on the strength of their writing and overall application.

Entering first-year WashU Law J.D. students with strong academics and a demonstrated commitment to public service may apply for Webster Society Scholarships. Awards include a full three-year tuition scholarship plus a $5,000 annual stipend, preferred status for summer faculty research positions, and related public-interest programming. Submit a 1 to 2 page public-service statement with your law-school application, or ask admissions to use your personal statement. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis; early applications are encouraged. The program honors Judge William H. Webster, JD '49.

Signature Scholars Program founded on academic excellence, leadership, community service, and diversity. Multiple full-tuition and partial-tuition scholarships support recipients throughout their undergraduate careers with enrichment programming and mentorship. Only U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and undocumented or DACA students living in the United States are eligible. Applicants submit admission materials by December 16, complete a Pathway short answer, and finalists must attend virtual events and an interview in early March to remain in consideration.

Scholarship awarded to Washington University architecture students from the St. Louis metropolitan area who have completed the first two years of architectural studies. A separate application is required directly to the St. Louis Chapter of the American Institute of Architects rather than through WashU financial aid. Merit-based Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps scholarships for high school seniors applying for four-year awards, current students seeking two- or three-year scholarships, and graduate students competing for two-year awards. Scholarships cover full tuition and mandatory fees plus textbook support each semester and a monthly subsistence allowance while on scholarship status. Some recipients also receive WashU room and board stipends depending on other financial aid eligibility.
