Scholarships at New York University

The NYU SPS Achieve Scholarship is awarded to a limited number of high-achieving incoming students from community colleges each fall. The award totals $30,000, paid as $15,000 per year for two years. Candidates should have completed or be completing an associate degree, hold a cumulative community college GPA of 3.8 or higher, and file a valid FAFSA using NYU's school code. Interested applicants indicate their interest on the SPS admissions application. Achieve Scholars are expected to enroll full-time and complete their bachelor's degree in two years to maintain the scholarship. The application deadline for Achieve consideration is April 1.

The NYU SPS Dean's Scholars Program awards exceptional undergraduate students $10,000 for the academic year in exchange for service as a peer mentor to new NYU SPS students. All NYU SPS undergraduate students are encouraged to apply, including domestic and international students. Applicants must have completed at least sixteen credits in their undergraduate program, be enrolled at least part-time with six credits, and hold a minimum GPA of 3.0. Scholars agree to mandatory service commitments including serving as a peer mentor, attending meetings with the dean and students, and participating in student organizations and community service.

New York University invites current second- and third-year undergraduate students who plan to pursue a career advancing the public good to apply for the Bell Public Service Scholarship. Annual scholarships of up to $10,000 are renewable until graduation. Applicants complete an online application and submit a Statement of Purpose addressing how volunteering or service work influenced their career choice and which populations they seek to impact. A committee reviews applications, selects finalists, and conducts interviews. Up to twenty Bell Family Scholarships are awarded annually to students in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need in any NYU school.
