Scholarships at Northern Virginia Community College

The NOVA CORE Scholarship is a National Science Foundation S-STEM award for low-income students pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in engineering at Northern Virginia Community College. Awards of up to six thousand dollars per year may cover tuition and fees for up to two years while recipients participate in cohort activities including Exploration and Service Bridges, SDV 100 or SDV 101, service learning, an Experiential Learning Conference presentation, and a YouTube reflection. Recipients are selected through the college's foundation scholarship process. The award may renew for an additional year to help students complete credentials in high-demand regional workforce programs tied to NOVA's Information and Engineering Technologies division.

The NOVA Student Success Fund provides scholarships and emergency grants to Northern Virginia Community College students facing financial barriers that threaten continued enrollment. Administered by the Office of Financial Stability and Advocacy through the NOVA Educational Foundation, the fund supports tuition, fees, books, housing, transportation, childcare, medical bills, and other basic needs for academically successful but financially challenged students. During the 2023-24 academic year the foundation made two hundred sixty-four awards totaling more than two hundred five thousand dollars.
