About this scholarship
The NOVA CORE Scholarship is a National Science Foundation S-STEM award for low-income students pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in engineering at Northern Virginia Community College. Awards of up to six thousand dollars per year may cover tuition and fees for up to two years while recipients participate in cohort activities including Exploration and Service Bridges, SDV 100 or SDV 101, service learning, an Experiential Learning Conference presentation, and a YouTube reflection. Applicants submit the NOVA CORE application form, a recommendation letter, and an essay; the Financial Aid Office verifies citizenship or eligible immigration status and demonstrated need from FAFSA results.
