Scholarships at George Washington University

Cisneros Scholars at George Washington University are selected from incoming undergraduates who apply through the Common Application and demonstrate academic achievement plus commitment to leadership and service in Latino communities. Approximately ten scholars join a four-year cohort with mentoring, professional development, academic seminars, and internship opportunities through the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute. The program is open to all eligible applicants regardless of ethnicity. Scholars receive a multi-year merit award as part of admission and participate in institute programming throughout undergraduate study. Only one GW admissions merit award may be accepted.

The Clark Engineering Scholars program at George Washington University provides annual need- and merit-based scholarships to first-year U.S. citizens pursuing a B.S. in the School of Engineering and Applied Science with at least a 3.3 GPA. Invited applicants are notified through Undergraduate Admissions in February based on FAFSA demonstrated need and academic performance, then interview before final selection. Scholars attend a late-August leadership boot camp, complete internships, study abroad, seminars, a business or management course, and community service while maintaining a 3.30 GPA. The scholarship renews with program participation and satisfactory academic progress.

George Washington University awards two full-tuition You Are Welcome Here Scholarships each year to first-year fall international applicants dedicated to bridging intercultural divides on campus. Applicants submit an essay or video presenting ideas for advancing intercultural learning and understanding, plus a CSS Profile with their admission application. Recipients are notified in their admission letter and may receive only one GW merit award. The scholarship renews for up to ten consecutive semesters with continuous full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress and applies to undergraduate tuition expenses.
