Scholarships at University of New Brunswick Fredericton

Canadian citizens or permanent residents on the Fredericton campus who have completed the second or third year of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) may apply. One $2,500 scholarship is awarded. Candidates must not hold a major scholarship at the same time. Selection is based on academic achievement.

For a Fredericton campus student who has completed the requirements for first year in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil Engineering) degree program and has a demonstrated interest in structural engineering. Selection is based on scholastic attainment; financial need may also be considered. One scholarship of $1,750 is offered. Apply by the university's April 15 scholarship deadline.

Fredericton campus undergraduate students at UNB who submit an outstanding essay or report on New Brunswick history or biography for a regular course requirement are eligible. Preference goes to work on Miramichi or Northumberland County topics. If none qualify, the award goes to superior work in New Brunswick, Atlantic, or Canadian history. The prize is worth $1,500, recommended by the Department of History.

University of New Brunswick Fredericton campus students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (consecutive or concurrent) who have completed a Bachelor of Science, or who are enrolled in the B.Sc./B.Ed. program, and who are New Brunswick residents under Student Financial Services guidelines may receive this scholarship. Selection is based on financial need and academic performance. Two awards of $1,250 are available each year. Apply for B.Ed. entrance scholarships through your UNB application account by March 30.

Fredericton campus students who have completed at least first-year degree requirements, maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA in the previous year, and are members of a Varsity Reds athletic team may apply. One scholarship of $1,200 is available. The award goes to a student who has made and will continue to make a positive contribution to university and community life.

Fredericton campus students who have completed the first year of the Bachelor of Arts program and demonstrated excellence in at least six credit hours of English may be nominated for this prize. One prize of $1,000 is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of English. A nomination letter from the course instructor and a portfolio of the student's work, including essays and exams, are required.

UNB Fredericton campus students who have completed at least the minimum requirements for second year of the Bachelor of Arts program. One scholarship annually; the amount varies. Selection is based on scholastic attainment and financial need. Apply via myUNB by April 15.

Female University of New Brunswick Fredericton campus students with high academic achievement (3.0 assessment-year GPA for returning students, or 80% average for entering students), athletic ability in women's varsity volleyball, and community leadership may receive the Gail MacKinnon Memorial Award. Open to transfer students. One award; amount varies. Selected on recommendation of the Faculty of Kinesiology in consultation with the Director of Athletics.

University of New Brunswick Fredericton campus students who have completed at least the first year of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil) program may be considered for this scholarship. The amount varies. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need. No separate application is required; the faculty nominates the recipient.

Fredericton campus Civil Engineering students at the University of New Brunswick are eligible. The scholarship is awarded primarily on scholastic attainment. One award is given; the amount varies. Continuing students apply through myUNB between January 1 and April 15.
