Scholarships at University of the Fraser Valley

For a University of the Fraser Valley student in the Criminal Justice degree program with strong evidence of outstanding community and/or school citizenship. One scholarship of $500 is awarded; the value fluctuates each year based on endowment income. Recipients are nominated by the Director of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice based on citizenship activities and academic standing.

University of the Fraser Valley History students with high marks who have shown the skills of an outstanding history scholar, especially in Canadian history, may apply. Financial need is considered. One award of $300 is available. Apply through MyUFV. The scholarship was established by family and friends to remember Constance Barber Newby, a writer, publisher, and scholar with a lasting interest in Canadian history.

Students graduating from a Mission high school who have been accepted into a full-time academic science or technology program at the University of the Fraser Valley are eligible. Preference goes to a graduate of Heritage Park Secondary for one award and Riverside Trades, Training and Career Centre for the other; if no suitable candidate is available from those schools, any Mission high school graduate in an eligible UFV program may qualify. One or more entrance scholarships are awarded; the amount varies. Applicants must plan to attend UFV full time in the year after Grade 12, have submitted a UFV admission application, hold at least a B average in Grade 12 academic courses, meet program prerequisites, and demonstrate leadership and community involvement.
