Quebec Scholarships

Admitted Concordia PhD students supervised by a Volt-Age professor may be considered. The Denis Faubert Doctoral Fellowship is awarded to the Volt-Age doctoral applicant with the highest GPA whose research most closely aligns with defence, energy, and aerospace innovation. The fellowship provides $35,000 per year for four years under the Volt-Age Doctoral Fellowship framework. Nomination follows the Volt-Age project selection process.

Black Canadian citizens or permanent residents entering a Concordia PhD program who are nominated for a Concordia University Doctoral Graduate Fellowship within their faculty's quota. Recipients must maintain full-time standing and register with the NouLA Centre. If no Canadian candidates are presented, eligibility may extend to Black U.S. or international students who hold a master's degree from Canada. Up to 10 awards of $30,000-$35,000 per year for four years (up to $35,000). The admission application is integrated with award consideration; contact your program or faculty for nomination details.

Concordia Fine Arts undergraduates in third or fourth year, and graduate students in the second year of a program (including INDI and HUMA), may propose an internship with a Greater Montreal non-profit arts organization. Each award is $5,000, with up to 40 awards per year across Fine Arts departments and eligible graduate programs. Develop a project with a host organization, then apply through the Fine Arts internship award process by the November 15 or March 15 deadline for your project timeline.

Full-time undergraduate Faculty of Medicine students at the University of Ottawa who are Canadian citizens, Quebec residents, demonstrate the greatest financial need, and show academic excellence may apply. One award of $4,000 is available annually. Apply through Multiple Financial Need Bursaries - M.D. Program (99931) in uoZone by October 31 with the Financial Questionnaire and a transcript. The Jacques G. Robichon MD Scholarship for Students Residing in Quebec assists Quebec medical undergraduates with demonstrated need.

First Nations, Inuit, and Métis undergraduates in Concordia's Faculty of Fine Arts (enrolled in at least one Fine Arts course) may apply for Indigenous student-led projects such as exhibitions, screenings, performances, conferences, travel to present work, or community events. Proof of identity may be requested. Four grants of $1,000 are available each fiscal year on a first-come, first-awarded basis. Submit a single PDF with a cover page, 450-500 word project description, and budget to tricia.middleton@concordia.ca.

Graduating full-time Day Division students registered in the Theatre Program at John Abbott College, with a 70% average and demonstrated financial need. One bursary of $400 is available. Apply through John Abbott College financial aid.

Undergraduates who present the best essay on one of four historical topics assigned at the beginning of the academic year may receive this $250 prize. One award is available.

Open to a student in major or honours history who submits an outstanding essay in British history. One prize worth $200 is available.

McGill University undergraduates in financial need who submit an In-Course Financial Aid application are considered for the SSMU Access Bursary. The amount varies. The fund was established in 1999 by a Students' Society of McGill University referendum, with matching support through the McGill Development Fund, and is administered by the Scholarships and Student Aid Office.

McGill Faculty of Law undergraduate students are eligible for this Civil Law essay prize for the best written contribution, whether an essay or other paper written as an elective, course requirement, or voluntarily. The prize is awarded only if a high standard is met, and is meant to encourage revision of outstanding work for publication. The amount varies. Faculty nomination is required (restricted McGill Law professor or staff form); it is not a student application.
