Nursing Scholarships in Canada

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a nursing degree program at a Georgia post-secondary institution may apply. Diploma programs are excluded, and applicants need a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The Higher Foundation and Sage Consulting Partners award one $2,000 Shirley Ann Steinback-Hawthrone Scholarship. Round 1 is open from May 1, 2026 through January 1, 2027. Applicants complete the public four-page Jotform with their contact and school information, a basic-needs response, an official college transcript, a one-page nursing essay, a professional headshot, and demographic and financial-aid questions. Only selected finalists later complete the separate Round 2 video and enrollment-verification requirements.

Registered nurses and nurse practitioners in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses who are members of the NL Registered Nurses' Education and Research Trust and enrolled full-time or part-time in a Master of Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing program at a recognized university may apply for the Graduate Nursing Scholarship. Applicants need a minimum overall average of 70% in their current program (or previous program if in first year), must demonstrate above-average interest in a particular area of nursing, and must not be a prior recipient. Preference goes to applicants who have completed at least one year of their program. The award is $2,000 for full-time study or $1,000 for part-time study. Apply by October 15 with the Graduate Nursing Scholarship Application Form and required supporting documentation. The Dr. Elizabeth Summers Graduate Study Award goes to the highest-ranked Master of Nursing applicant; all MN applicants are considered for both.

Full-time international students from Africa or India enrolled in a program at the School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa who demonstrate financial need may apply. The award is at least $2,000. Apply through uoZone with the Financial Questionnaire; applications are due October 31.

For a University of Calgary undergraduate entering first year in the Faculty of Nursing BSc Nursing program. One scholarship of up to $1,500 is offered annually on academic merit, with preference for a student whose home address is in a rural community. Students are considered through the Fall Undergraduate Nominated Award competition. The donor is anonymous.

Full-time undergraduate Nursing students at the University of Windsor in Years 2, 3, or 4 with a minimum 75% cumulative average and contributions to the Nursing profession and community or campus involvement. Financial need may be considered. Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (including protected persons). Candidates submit a short statement outlining their experiences. One $1,400 scholarship is granted annually. Apply online through the UWinAward profile. Established in memory of Dr. Sheila Cameron, Dean of Nursing and the University's first female scholar to receive the title of University Professor.

Undergraduate nursing students at the University of Windsor who meet OSOTF II citizenship and residency requirements may apply for need-based assistance from the OSOTF II Nursing fund. Five bursaries of $1,400 each are available. Apply through the UWinAward profile.

Full-time students in years 2, 3, or 4 of the Newfoundland and Labrador Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Collaborative) program with at least a 75% average may apply for this scholarship. Three scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded annually, one per year level per school of nursing. Submit applications to your school of nursing by October 15 during the fall funding competition.

Full-time undergraduate nursing students at the School of Nursing of the Faculty of Health Sciences (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, persons with protected or refugee status, or international students) who demonstrate financial need and involvement in the Haitian community may apply. One award of $1,000 is granted. Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uoZone by November 3 with the Financial Questionnaire, a CV, and a letter on your Haitian community involvement. The scholarship is named for Myrtha Lapierre.

Full-time undergraduate students in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, at the University of Ottawa who demonstrate financial need may apply. Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, persons with protected or refugee status, and international students. One bursary of $1,000 is available. Apply via uoZone Online Scholarships and Bursaries by November 3 with the Financial Questionnaire. The Jeannette Bennett Memorial Bursary supports an undergraduate Nursing student at uOttawa.

One award at the University of Windsor for a full-time second-year Nursing student. Selection is based on a minimum cumulative average of 83% and financial need. The candidate must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (including those with Protected Persons status) who meets Ontario Student Assistance Program Ontario residency requirements. The scholarship is $800. One award is available. Assigned through the online application process.
