Animal Science Scholarships

The Knop Science Scholarship is a prestigious four-year full-tuition award for high-achieving students who show potential to contribute to Ripon College's science and mathematics departments and benefit from enhanced scholarly opportunities. The Knop Science Scholars Board convenes each year at the beginning of the second semester to select scholars. This is an invitation-only program: accepted students receive invitations in early January and invited candidates submit a five-minute video on their science or mathematics background and goals to the admission office by March 1. Awards are based on current published tuition figures and apply toward tuition only.

The STEP Science Scholarship provides five thousand dollars per year for four years to incoming Saint Vincent College freshmen majoring in biochemistry or data science or minoring in biotechnology with a Boyer School major. Five scholarships are offered annually in addition to institutional merit and need-based aid. Selection is based on scholastic performance, a required essay, and financial need verified through the FAFSA. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA, participate in the Collaborative Learning Program for two years, and complete the essay application by March 1.

Occidental College Science Scholars receive funded research support from the Fletcher-Jones Foundation and Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation to conduct faculty-mentored projects in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, cognitive science, computer science, geology, kinesiology, mathematics, physics, or psychology with a neuroscience emphasis. Junior applicants submit a research proposal, budget, and mentor letter by November 17 and interview if selected as finalists. Total support includes fifteen thousand dollars in study grants plus three thousand dollars for research expenses and travel, spanning junior spring through senior year with required interim and final reports.

Donor-funded scholarship for undergraduates in Eastern Michigan University's Fermentation Science Program beginning in the 2025–26 academic year. The fund provides four annual awards of $2,500 each, including two for incoming students and two for upper-level students already in the program. Recipients are selected on academic merit, demonstrated interest in fermentation science, and financial need. Awardees are recognized at EMU's annual awards celebration. Students apply through the program's established scholarship process after enrolling in the fermentation science major.

Carthage College awards two full-tuition Math/Science Scholarships each year to incoming students demonstrating ability in mathematics and natural sciences. Eligible intended majors include biology, biotechnology, chemistry, data science, environmental science, geographic information science, geoscience, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics; double majors are acceptable. Submit admission application, Math/Science Scholarship application, and one-page interest essay by December 3. Finalists attend a hybrid second-round event in mid-February with a written examination covering four of five science and math subject areas. Scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance and renew four years.
