Rico Mariani 2SLGBTQ+ Graduate Award

Full-time graduate students in any Faculty of Mathematics program at the University of Waterloo may apply. Selection is based on academic achievement (minimum cumulative average of 75% or equivalent) and extracurricular or volunteer involvement advancing 2SLGBTQ+ initiatives toward a more inclusive campus or community.

Award amounts vary. Applicants explain their involvement in 1,000 words or fewer and may include supporting links or materials. Applications are due October 1, 2026.

The fund was established by Rico Mariani (BMath '88) to remove barriers for 2SLGBTQ+ students in Mathematics.
