About this scholarship
High school seniors who are children, stepchildren, adopted children, or court-appointed custodial children of active Iron Workers members with five or more years of continuous service (or deceased members in good standing) may apply. Applicants must pursue a full-time degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, labor-management relations, or a construction-related field at an accredited U.S. or Canadian college or university.
Scholarships of $5,000 are awarded competitively and renewable for three additional years based on academic record, conduct, and continued member-parent standing.
Apply electronically through the Iron Workers scholarship portal. Deadline is May 30 annually. After student submission, a secondary school report, transcript, letter of recommendation, and SAT/ACT scores (U.S. students when applicable) are required.
The Eric S. Waterman Scholarship Foundation supports ironworker families pursuing construction-related higher education through the International Association of Iron Workers.
