Scholarships at University of the Ozarks

Competitive forgivable loan program for new first-year and transfer students at University of the Ozarks pursuing an education major or minor who plan to teach in Arkansas. Recipients may receive up to five thousand dollars per year, renewable for four years, through a separate competitive application demonstrating commitment to the teaching profession. The award is initially structured as a loan but converts to scholarship forgiveness when the graduate completes at least four years of teaching service in Arkansas. It may be combined with other aid up to the cost of attendance.

Competitive art scholarship for University of the Ozarks students pursuing a major in graphic design, funded through a Windgate Foundation gift expanding the university's design program. The award provides three thousand dollars per year and can stack on top of institutional merit scholarships. Recipients must submit a separate application by April 1 for the fall semester and demonstrate artistic potential and dedication to the field. The scholarship renews for up to four years when eligibility requirements are maintained.

Prestigious four-year scholarship established by Helen Walton to honor her mother, Hazel Carr Robson, an alumna of Claremore High School in Rogers County, Oklahoma. It covers the full cost of attendance at University of the Ozarks, including tuition, room, meal plan, and essential learning materials, for up to four years. Applicants must have lived in Rogers County, Oklahoma, for at least three years at high school graduation and embody integrity and academic excellence. Competitive need-based grant for high-achieving University of the Ozarks undergraduates from low and middle income families, established in 2016 by the Walton Family Support Foundation. After federal, state, institutional, and other aid, the award can cover tuition, books, and room and board to minimize debt. Applicants need a high school GPA of at least 3.2, a filed FAFSA, and adjusted gross income below ninety-two thousand dollars. The separate application opens December 15 and closes January 30 and includes an interview; recipients also complete the Frontier Leadership Seminar during freshman year.
