Scholarships at University of North Carolina at Charlotte

The Martin Scholars Program, established by Demond and Twakia Martin, supports high-achieving UNC Charlotte students with the highest financial need by covering unmet need up to the cost of attendance, averaging about $35,000 over four years including study abroad support. Open to incoming freshmen, transfer students, and continuing students who are Pell-eligible with a Student Aid Index of $3,000 or less, North Carolina residents, and members of an honors program. The Honors College Advisory Board raised funds for this scholarship to recognize students who contribute meaningfully to the honors community beyond the classroom.

High school seniors, including homeschooled students, who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents applying for freshman enrollment at UNC Charlotte may apply for the Levine Scholars Program with a counselor nomination or self-nomination. Up to 22 scholars receive full tuition plus housing, meals, books, and mandatory fees for four years, along with summer experiences and a civic engagement grant. Nomination deadline is October 15; the Levine application deadline is November 15. UNC Charlotte admission applications are due November 1. Scholars must demonstrate ethical leadership, civic engagement, and academic excellence. The Levine Scholars Program is UNC Charlotte's most prestigious merit scholarship for extraordinary incoming freshmen.

The Teresa Parham Lane Endowed Nursing Scholarship, established by UNC Charlotte alumna Teresa Lane through a $25,000 gift, assists undergraduate nursing students in the School of Nursing who may struggle to maintain high grade-point averages but demonstrate dedication to the field. The fund specifically supports juniors and seniors without the strict GPA thresholds common to many scholarships, reflecting Lane's own experience as a student who succeeded despite academic challenges. The Broderick Adé Hogue Memorial Scholarship Award honors the legacy of Broderick Adé Hogue and supports junior and senior UNC Charlotte students majoring in graphic design or art. Created by Hogue's UNC Charlotte family, alumni, faculty, and friends, the scholarship gives preference to students with a demonstrated commitment to promoting opportunities for Black, Indigenous, or People of Color.
