Scholarships at Trine University

The Allen School of Engineering and Computing Scholarship is one of Trine University's competitive undergraduate school awards granted through invitation-only Scholarship Day events. Two scholarships of $26,000 per year are awarded within the Allen School based on Scholarship Day competition results, including a submitted essay, academic assessment, and faculty interview. Scholarship Day awards replace any existing Trine academic tuition scholarship, and recipients must maintain full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA to renew annually. Bateman Kolb and school scholarship recipients may receive priority housing in Scholars Hall within Fabiani Hall. The Trine Study Abroad Scholarship provides up to $5,000 to full-time, degree-seeking undergraduates who participate in Trine's study abroad programs and currently receive an academic merit scholarship from the university. Applicants must maintain a minimum 3.0 Trine cumulative GPA, complete required financial aid forms including the FAFSA, obtain proof of acceptance into an approved study abroad program, and submit the Study Abroad Scholarship Application with a two-page personal statement and a sealed academic reference from a current Trine faculty member. Fall semester applications are due June 1 and spring semester applications are due October 1. Merit scholarships are not transferable to study abroad, so this dedicated award helps cover program costs processed through the Trine Business Office.

Trine University offers ten FIRST ROBOTICS Scholarships of $2,500 each to high school seniors who participated on a FIRST team during their high school career and enroll in an undergraduate program within the Allen School of Engineering and Computing. The stackable award may supplement the student's primary academic merit scholarship and renews contingent upon maintaining good academic standing and full-time enrollment in an eligible engineering or computing major. Applicants must submit the scholarship application and required documents by March 1 for the entering fall class. This award counts toward Trine's limit of two stackable scholarships beyond merit aid, and total institutional aid cannot exceed full tuition. The Boys and Girls State Award provides $2,000 per year to newly enrolled first-year undergraduates at Trine University who attended a Boys State or Girls State program in their respective state. This stackable award supplements the student's primary academic merit scholarship and renews while the recipient remains a full-time undergraduate in good standing who has not transitioned to a Trine graduate program. Applicants receive the award by sending their admission counselor a copy of the completion certificate given to each participant. Students may hold up to two stackable Trine awards in addition to merit aid, but total scholarships cannot exceed full tuition. The National Merit Finalist Award provides $1,000 per year to newly enrolled undergraduates at Trine University who have been named National Merit Finalists. This stackable award supplements the student's primary academic merit scholarship and renews while the recipient remains a full-time undergraduate in good standing who has not transitioned to a Trine graduate program. Applicants must provide their National Merit Finalist letter to Trine admission to receive the award. Students may hold up to two stackable Trine awards in addition to merit aid, but total institutional scholarships cannot exceed full tuition.
