Scholarships at University of South Carolina, Columbia

Prestigious Top Scholar award for incoming non-South Carolina resident freshmen at USC Columbia. Twenty students are named McNair Scholars each year based on academics and leadership. Recipients receive $24,000 annually plus in-state tuition rate and a $14,000 enrichment fund over four years. Candidates must submit the general application and South Carolina Honors College application by November 15 and complete a mandatory Top Scholar Weekend interview.

Endowed undergraduate nursing scholarship at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing for a worthy student majoring in nursing. Established in 1990 to support BSN students and sustained by decades of donor support including a recent bequest. Applicants must be admitted to or enrolled in the College of Nursing and submit the college undergraduate scholarship application available December 15 through April 1 for the following academic year. Awards are competitive and not automatically renewable.

Nursing scholarship funded by the Bedford Falls Foundation for upper-division undergraduate nursing students at USC Columbia who are South Carolina residents with at least a 3.0 GPA. The fund supports up to 165 South Carolina residents over three years to reduce financial barriers in nursing education. Apply through the College of Nursing undergraduate scholarship application available December 15 through April 1. Awards are evaluated during summer for the subsequent academic year.

Freshman scholarship in the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing at USC Columbia for a full-time student from the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. Preference is given to students pursuing chemical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering. Recipients may also be eligible for internships and research opportunities with Michelin North America. Apply through the college general scholarship application due March 15 for incoming freshmen.
