Scholarships at Prairie View A&M University

The Recruiting Inclusive Students into Energy Scholars Program at Prairie View A&M University, known as RISE, is a Halliburton partnership awarding twelve thousand five hundred dollar scholarships to eligible juniors and seniors. Students must major in accounting, finance, engineering, or management information systems and hold a minimum two point seven five cumulative GPA. Beyond tuition support, RISE scholars receive Halliburton mentors, summer internship opportunities, and professional development such as resume coaching and interview preparation. The multi-year program is administered through PVAMU's College of Business and Roy G. Perry College of Engineering in collaboration with Halliburton.

Direct Connect Scholarships assist students matriculating from a Texas community college into Prairie View A&M University. Award amounts depend on prior academic performance: five thousand dollars for associate degree GPAs from three point zero to four point zero, four thousand dollars for associate degree GPAs from two point zero to two point nine nine, or two thousand five hundred dollars for students with forty-five transferable hours and a two point five GPA. The scholarship recurs for four semesters when recipients remain eligible. All applicants must complete and submit the university general scholarship application before the published deadline.

The W. R. Banks Graduate Fellowship honors Principal W. R. Banks and provides need-based support to Texas resident graduate students at Prairie View A&M University. Eligible applicants must hold a minimum three point zero cumulative and semester GPA, complete at least a half-time course load of six credit hours per semester, maintain satisfactory academic progress, and demonstrate financial need through a verified FAFSA. Priority is given to students with more than fifty-four earned graduate credit hours. Fellows may receive up to three thousand dollars for one academic year depending on available Presidential Scholarship Program funding and are selected first-come, first-served.

The L. C. Anderson Scholarship honors Principal L. C. Anderson and supports Texas resident freshmen at Prairie View A&M University who demonstrate financial need. Eligible students must be classified as freshmen, enrolled full time with at least twelve credit hours per semester, maintain satisfactory academic progress, and hold a minimum two point five cumulative GPA. Applicants must complete the general scholarship application by the published deadline and have a verified FAFSA on file so need can be determined. Awards of up to two thousand dollars for one academic year are made on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.

The J. G. Osborne Scholarship recognizes Principal J. G. Osborne and provides need-based support to Texas resident juniors at Prairie View A&M University. Eligible students must have earned at least sixty but no more than eighty-nine credit hours, hold a minimum two point five cumulative GPA, enroll full time with at least twelve semester credit hours, and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Applicants must complete the general scholarship application and have a verified FAFSA on file by the published deadline. Eligible students may receive up to two thousand dollars for one academic year depending on available Presidential Scholarship Program funding.

General University Scholarships at Prairie View A&M University are awarded through the Office of Scholarship Services to newly admitted and continuing undergraduate and graduate students across academic disciplines. Selection is competitive and based on scholastic achievement, recommendations, and financial need demonstrated through the FAFSA when required. Incoming freshmen and transfers need a minimum two point seven five GPA, while graduate applicants need a three point zero GPA; returning undergraduates need a two point seven five cumulative and prior spring GPA. Individual awards range from five hundred to two thousand dollars for the upcoming fall and spring semesters and require the annual general scholarship application.
