Scholarships at University of Montana

Endowed Missoula College scholarship providing $4,300 in support for students in health-professions programs including Associate of Science in Nursing, Registered Nursing, Surgical Technology, Paramedicine, or Medical Assisting. Five students were selected in the 2023-2024 award cycle. Eligible Missoula College and UM Bitterroot College students apply through Scholarship Universe; complete the general application to be considered. The Missoula College scholarship committee finalizes recipients in early May for the summer, fall, and spring academic year. Contact Associate Dean Dr. Gardner with scholarship questions.

Missoula College scholarship funded by donor Kent Hamer providing $2,000 awards to students who demonstrate academic merit or financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Each year half of awards go to students with demonstrated need and half to students with high academic merit. Eligible Missoula College and Bitterroot College students apply through Scholarship Universe by April 1. The committee meets in early May to finalize recipients. This is separate from the Kent Hamer Student Support Fund, which assists students facing financial hardship through the Director for Student Success.

Renewable Missoula College scholarship for University of Montana undergraduates in the Applied Computing and Engineering Technology Department. Recipients must be first- or second-year students in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The $1,000 award is selected by the scholarship committee appointed by the Missoula College dean. Apply through Scholarship Universe by April 1; the committee finalizes awards in early May. This scholarship supports students building computing and engineering technology skills at Missoula College.

Incoming University of Montana freshmen applying to the Davidson Honors College by December 1 are considered for the Presidential Leadership Scholarship along with the Provost's Honors and Dean's Leadership scholarships. Presidential Scholars are chosen on academic merit alone. Merit-based tuition waivers vary by residency tier, including non-resident WUE reductions and in-state full waivers for top tiers. Awards renew for up to four years. Recipients must maintain a 3.4 GPA, complete honors coursework, and meet advising requirements. Applications received after the deadline are considered for honors college admission but not for incoming student scholarships.

Forestry scholarship at the University of Montana for students majoring in forestry within the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation. Recipients need not be at the top of their class but must show strong determination to finish the program and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Awards are made from endowed funds supporting forestry students. Apply through the college and UM scholarship processes; not every endowed forestry scholarship is awarded every year. Preference goes to students committed to completing their forestry degree.
