Scholarships at University of Miami

The University of Miami Broward Women's Guild Scholarship supports female graduates of Broward County high schools who are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Miami. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, demonstrate financial need, and plan to enroll for the fall semester at UM. The award provides up to two thousand dollars. Students download the separate application from the donor scholarships page and submit it with required financial aid documentation. Selection is administered by the Student Financial Assistance and Employment Office.

The George W. Jenkins Scholarship supports high school seniors with strong academics, significant financial need, and a history of overcoming adversity. Jenkins Scholars receive the full cost of attendance for up to eight semesters, including tuition, fees, on-campus housing, a meal plan, health insurance, a laptop allowance, and possible stipends for books and personal expenses. Applicants must be nominated by a school or community counselor, apply under Early Decision I or Early Action by November 1, submit a personal statement by December 1, and file the FAFSA and CSS Profile by November 15. Eligible students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia with a minimum 3.75 unweighted GPA.

The Alex Rodriguez Endowed Scholarship supports full-time undergraduate students at the University of Miami who are current members of the Boys and Girls Club and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and file the current-year FAFSA and CSS Profile. Awards are made through the Student Financial Assistance and Employment Office based on need analysis after submission of required financial aid applications. Students must download and complete the separate scholarship application in addition to standard aid forms. Contact the financial aid office for current award amounts and renewal criteria.

The Steven B. Schonfeld Foundation Scholarship supports incoming sophomore University of Miami students majoring in computer science or computer engineering who demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and file the current-year FAFSA and CSS Profile. The scholarship is renewable for two additional years provided academic merit requirements continue to be met. Students should review the informational flyer and contact the financial aid office for application instructions and current award amounts.

The S.M. Fogel September 11 Memorial Scholarship supports dependent children of a person who lost their life during the September 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center, Pentagon, or Shanksville. Applicants must be full-time University of Miami undergraduates in good standing and download the separate scholarship application from the donor scholarships page. Financial need documentation may be required through standard aid applications depending on current program administration. The WWMA and UM Black Alumni Society Scholarship supports enrolled University of Miami undergraduates who have completed at least thirty credit hours at UM and demonstrate financial need through the current-year FAFSA and CSS Profile. WWMA applicants need a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; Black Alumni Society applicants need a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
