Scholarships at University of Connecticut

The Mortensen Scholarship provides Hartford campus undergraduates awards ranging from one thousand to five thousand dollars per year based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement, with preference for Hartford residents. Continuing UConn Hartford students apply through the campus scholarship portal by April 10 for the following academic year. Recipients are selected by committee and notified via UConn email in June. Funds may be distributed among multiple qualified applicants depending on available resources each cycle.

The UConn Hartford Academic Scholarship provides ten one-thousand-dollar awards to continuing undergraduate students at the Hartford regional campus who demonstrate strong academic performance. Applicants must have completed at least forty-five credits, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be declared in a Hartford degree program or pursuing a Public Policy minor. A faculty or staff nomination letter is required. Applications are due April 10 for the following academic year, and recipients are notified by email in June.

The Nutmeg Scholarship honors exceptional Connecticut secondary school seniors admitted to UConn's Storrs campus with a full scholarship covering direct and indirect cost of attendance. Up to twenty recipients are selected statewide each year based on academic achievement, leadership, community service, and citizenship. Eligible Connecticut residents need a minimum 3.7 GPA, top-ten-percent class rank when available, and strong extracurricular records. Applicants submit the Common or Coalition application by November 1, complete the Nutmeg supplemental form by November 8 with essays and two recommendations, and may interview.
