Scholarships for Women in Canada

Third- or fourth-year female Bachelor of Commerce (Finance option) students at Telfer who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected or refugee persons, Ontario residents (per OSAP), with demonstrated financial need may apply. The scholarship is $4,000. Apply via uoZone with the Financial Questionnaire and CV by November 3.

Open to women in Canada or the United States whose education was interrupted for at least 24 consecutive months and who are returning to school to support themselves or their families. Grants are need-based and pay up to $4,000 for tuition, books, supplies, childcare, transportation, and other education costs tied to completing a certificate, diploma, degree, or licensure program. Apply through nomination by a local P.E.O. chapter. There is no fixed public deadline; chapter review timelines vary. The P.E.O. Sisterhood has funded women's continuing education since 1973 through chapter-nominated grants across North America.

Female students enrolled in a science or business-related program at Glendon College, York University, who have completed at least one year of study may apply. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 6.0, demonstrate financial need, and submit a one-page statement on extracurricular or community participation and how they hope to contribute to a science or business field in Canada after graduation. One award of $1,000 is available. The award is funded by the University Women's Club of North York.

For a Year 3 undergraduate in the University of Windsor Faculty of Engineering who is Black, female, and/or Indigenous and actively pursuing an engineering degree. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded annually. Apply online via the UWinAward profile.

Women enrolled full- or part-time at the University of Ottawa who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected/refugee status holders, meet Ontario residency under OSAP rules, demonstrate financial need, and work to promote women's rights in the community and/or through their studies. Preference for involvement in Franco-Canadian culture or language, or in a musical community. At least $1,000. Apply via uoZone by November 3 with the Financial Questionnaire and a 500-word letter on women's-rights involvement.

Brock University mature female students from the city of Niagara Falls may receive this in-course bursary from the CFUW Niagara Falls Branch Scholarships Trust Fund. One bursary of $500 is awarded by the Brock University Senate Committee on Awards and Bursaries based on the recommendation of the Bursary Officer. Apply through Brock Student Awards and Financial Aid.

Female third-year Bachelor of Commerce students in York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies who demonstrate financial need and had the greatest GPA increase between first and second year. If more than one candidate qualifies, preference goes to the greatest financial need. A new recipient is selected every other year. Award amount varies. Apply through York's FAAS student profile.

Female full-time undergraduate students at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, who are Ontario residents (per OSAP rules), demonstrate financial need, and show academic excellence. Award amount varies. Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uoZone with the Financial Questionnaire. Deadline November 3. An OSOTF memorial scholarship.

Indigenous women who are Canadian citizens and Ontario residents under OSAP rules, registered full-time, part-time, or as special students at the University of Ottawa, and who demonstrate financial need (OSOTF) may apply. The award value varies (full value if full-time). Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uoZone by November 3 with the Financial Questionnaire and documented Indigenous identity. The Ottawa Valley Scholarship (OSOTF) assists Indigenous female students with demonstrated need.
