Scholarships at The University of Winnipeg

For a student with satisfactory academic progress who has completed at least 30 credit hours and is majoring in Psychology in any degree program. Preference may be given to a single parent. One bursary of $3,695 is offered. Applicants must complete the Special Awards for High Need Students application form.

University of Winnipeg continuing English majors with financial need may apply. Preference goes to students with a demonstrated interest in poetry. Two bursaries of $3,627.50 each. Apply through the university awards portal by October 1.

University of Winnipeg continuing degree students with high academic standing may receive the Hanna Family Scholarship. Special consideration may be given to Classics, History, or Philosophy majors. One $1,759 award is available. Apply through AcademicWorks by October 1. The scholarship was established by Alan and Dianne Hanna.

University of Winnipeg Bachelor of Education students entering second, third, or fourth year who combine leadership and academic excellence with a minimum 3.0 GPA may be considered on the recommendation of the Dean of Education. One $1,413 scholarship is awarded in October. No separate application is required beyond the Dean's recommendation process.

For University of Winnipeg students who hold a satisfactory academic record. One bursary of $1,400. Established by Irene Sanderson (BA, 1995) through a bequest to The University of Winnipeg Foundation, named for Irene and her husband Stuart.

University of Winnipeg students who demonstrate financial need and are taking one or more courses in Urban and Inner-City Studies at Merchants Corner may apply for this bursary. One recipient receives $1,000 annually. Apply through the university awards portal.

Manitoba residents with financial need entering the University of Winnipeg who are handicapped or children of a handicapped person may apply for these entrance scholarships. Award value is $757. Apply through the UWinnipeg online awards application by the published March deadline.

University of Winnipeg students with financial need are eligible. Two bursaries of $610 each are available. Apply through the UWinnipeg online awards application by October 1. The fund was established in celebration of Bill and Grace Walker's fiftieth anniversary and in recognition of the contribution that made a university education possible for their daughters.

University of Winnipeg students entering the fourth year of an English Honours program who have displayed academic excellence may receive this scholarship. Financial need may also be considered.
