Scholarships at First Nations University of Canada

First Nations University of Canada full-time First Nation, Metis, or Inuit student in an academic degree program, in good academic standing with a minimum 65% standing and demonstrated financial need. Two bursaries of $2,500 are available per academic year (disbursements around February 28 and October 31). Submit the FNUniv general scholarship application package (form, current transcripts, resume, and cover letter addressing financial need such as housing, transportation, and budget).

Full-time Indigenous FNUniv students in administration or business degree, diploma, or certificate programs with minimum 65% UGPA may apply for this scholarship. Eight awards of $2,500 are granted each year (four on October 31, four on February 28). Submit a completed application form, current transcripts, resume, and cover letter describing activities related to student goals. Demonstration of financial need is required.

Undergraduate students at the University of Regina, Campion College, Luther College, or First Nations University of Canada who are single parents with sole or partial custody of dependent children may apply. Applicants must have completed at least 12 credit hours, hold a minimum CGPA of 70%, remain registered in at least 9 credit hours in the payout term, and demonstrate financial need. Eight awards of $1,500 each are available annually.

Students registered at the First Nations University of Canada may apply if they are enrolled in the Bachelor of Indigenous Education, Elementary Program and have completed at least six credit hours in Indigenous Language courses, or if they are enrolled in the First Nations Language Certificate Program. The award amount varies. Preference goes to students over 30 who intend to teach a Canadian Indigenous language at the primary or elementary level. Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students are eligible. Apply with an application form, a program sheet completed by an Academic Advisor, a budget, and a cover letter expressing interest in teaching an Indian language at the primary or elementary level.
