Fine Arts Scholarships in Canada

University of Guelph students registered in SART*4750 or SART*4760 who demonstrate financial need and meet the government-mandated terms for an OSOTF award. One award of $300; it may be held once only. Selection is based on the student's portfolio. Apply by October 7 to Student Financial Services with a Financial Need Assessment Form, Studio Arts application, and portfolio.

One or more bursaries are awarded to students continuing in the Faculty of Fine Arts. Award value varies. Application deadlines are June 1 for the summer session and October 15 for the winter session.

UBC students demonstrating excellence in art history, visual art, theatre and film, creative writing, or music may receive this scholarship. Four awards of $1,000 each have been endowed by the University Chapter of the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. They are made on the joint recommendation of the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory, the Department of Theatre and Film, the Creative Writing Program, and the School of Music.

Fourth-semester students in the Film and Video Technology program within the School for Advanced Digital Technology at SAIT may apply. Alberta residents only. One award of $1,700 is offered for the Winter semester to a student who demonstrates outstanding achievement in production. Apply through mySAIT Student Awards and Financial Aid.

Full-time University of Lethbridge Master of Fine Arts or Master of Music students with a minimum 3.5 GPA may be nominated. Selection considers demonstrated excellence in studio or performance-based courses, with preference for continuing second-year students. Up to four awards of up to $4,500 are available (maximum one per department). No application is required; nomination is by the Faculty of Fine Arts.

Concordia Fine Arts undergraduates in third or fourth year, and graduate students in the second year of a program (including INDI and HUMA), may propose an internship with a Greater Montreal non-profit arts organization. Each award is $5,000, with up to 40 awards per year across Fine Arts departments and eligible graduate programs. Develop a project with a host organization, then apply through the Fine Arts internship award process by the November 15 or March 15 deadline for your project timeline.

University of Waterloo Faculty of Arts awards this scholarship to a Fine Arts major who has completed three years of Art History studies with distinction and continues into the fourth year of the Honours Art History Specialization. One scholarship of $200 is presented annually. No application is required.

Outstanding fourth-year undergraduate students in the Visual Arts program in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at UBC Okanagan may be considered for the Creative Studies Award in Fine Arts. Two awards valued at $250 each are available. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Visual Arts Committee. No separate student application is required.

Status or non-status First Nations, Métis, or Inuit students entering full-time Fine Arts graduate programs at the University of Lethbridge (MFA, MMus, or MA in Art, Dramatic Arts, Music, or New Media) are automatically considered at admission. Selection prioritizes financial need and superior portfolio, audition, research paper, or compositional work. The award is up to $6,000 per year for two years and may not be held concurrently with other awards of $10,000 or more. No separate application is required.

Bishop's University female students in Fine Arts who have shown the aptitude and desire to pursue a Studio Honours degree. One scholarship of $3,000. The Fine Arts Department faculty selects the recipient. No separate application is listed.
