Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications Music Entrance Scholarship

Emerging artists and writers residing on the Island of Montreal who have never received CALQ funding may apply for their first CALQ grant. Eligible disciplines include visual arts, literature, dance, theatre, music, film, digital arts, crafts, circus, and multidisciplinary practices. Grants support research, creation, exploration, and production activities. Scout intake listed awards up to $15,000; discipline-specific amounts appear after selecting criteria on the CALQ portal. The registration and application deadline is September 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Applications are submitted through the CALQ online system (Mon dossier CALQ). This territorial partnership program is co-administered by CALQ and Arts et lettres de Montréal to help emerging Montreal artists access their first public arts funding.

Professional musicians age 18 and older who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and Toronto residents for at least one year may apply in one of three categories: Creation (up to $10,000), Recording Demo/EP (up to $8,000), or Recording Full-Length (up to $15,000). Undergraduate students are ineligible. Grants support writing, composition, and audio recording of original music in any genre. Only one category may be applied to per year. Applications are due September 3, 2026 at 11:59 pm through TAC Grants Online. Toronto Arts Council funds professional artists across Toronto through discipline-specific project grants.

U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents pursuing or planning to pursue post-secondary education or training in roofing or a related building-industry field may apply for the Castagra Roofing Scholarship. Two awards are granted: $1,500 for the winner and $500 for the runner-up. Awards are not renewable but applicants may reapply in future years. Submit a 2 to 4 minute video or a 500 to 1,000 word essay on your educational and career goals and your interest in innovation and sustainability in the building industry.

Current Simon Fraser University undergraduates in Biomedical Physiology, Kinesiology, or Behavioural Neuroscience majors or honours who travel to present research at a scientific meeting, or to conduct research or BPK-directed experiential learning. Conference attendance without presenting is not eligible. Amount varies; reimbursement is up to the amount awarded. Submit the BPK TMRA application form, acceptance notice for a talk or poster if presenting, and an unofficial transcript. Application deadlines fall on September 5, January 5, and March 5.
