Engineering Scholarships in Canada

For undergraduate students entering first year in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary who show academic merit and financial need. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Alberta. Up to three bursaries of up to $9,000 each are offered annually. Apply through the My UCalgary Portal High School Awards application.

Open to Indigenous Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are registered full-time in a natural sciences or engineering degree program at an eligible institution, or employed as a postdoctoral fellow in the natural sciences or engineering at an eligible institution. The NSERC Indigenous Student Ambassadors grant is $2,500. It supports science-promotion work with Indigenous communities and schools, including sharing research and education experiences or participating in science promotion events.

Second- through final-year full-time CEAB-accredited engineering undergraduates at the University of Ottawa who are members of a racialized community or provide documented Indigenous identity, and who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and leadership may apply. Six awards of $1,500 are available, with at least three going to women or non-binary students. Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uoZone with the Financial Questionnaire, a 500-word letter, a résumé, and a self-identification statement by November 3.

Third-year University of Toronto undergraduates entering their final year in Engineering, Computer Science, or Bachelor of Commerce who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and are actively involved in two or more extracurricular activities may apply for the Accenture Scholarship (formerly the Andersen Consulting Scholarship). The award is approximately $1,300. Apply through the fall in-course Student Award Application.

Full-time master's students in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Windsor may apply. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, including those with protected persons status. One award of $1,200 is offered annually. Selection is based on financial need first, then academic merit, with preference for Electrical Engineering students. Additional consideration goes to students involved in volunteer work and campus or community activities. Apply online through UWinAward.

Students accepted to or enrolled in accredited U.S. college, trade, or high school STEM programs may apply for South Florida Forensic Engineering's annual STEM scholarship. Submit a one to two page essay, transcript, student ID, and contact details by email. One $1,000 award is made each year. Winners are notified by January 31. High school students accepted into qualifying STEM programs are eligible alongside current college and technical school enrollees.

University of Guelph honours students in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences who have completed at least 4.0 credits and demonstrated financial need may be considered. One one-time award of $1,000 is available. Submit an in-course Financial Needs Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7. Eligible students receive automatic consideration once the form is submitted. This is an OSOTF ACCESS award.

Open to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Windsor who are in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. Domestic and international students are eligible; awards are distributed as evenly as possible between the two groups. Eight bursaries of $1,000 each. Apply online.

SAIT students enrolled in Petroleum Engineering Technology or Advanced Care Paramedic who show financial need and community involvement or volunteerism may apply. Preference goes to mature students, single parents, or students with dependents. One award is available per program, each with its own deadline. Two awards of $1,000 are offered for the Winter semester. Apply through mySAIT Student Awards and Financial Aid. The award honors Darryl Fushtey.

University of Guelph students registered in the B.Eng. program majoring in Biological Engineering who have completed at least 17.25 credits are eligible. One award of $500. Selection is based on academic standing and demonstrated leadership. Apply by October 1 to the College of Engineering Awards Committee at soe.undergradawards@uoguelph.ca with a letter and resume.
