Computer Engineering Scholarships in Canada

First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students enrolling full time in a science, technology, engineering, or math program at the University of Windsor may apply. Students need a minimum admission average of 75% and must demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to FNMI students from Ontario. Several awards of $20,000 are available. Recipients may renew for up to three additional years if they maintain a minimum 75% scholarship average in their program of study. Open to Indigenous Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are registered full-time in a natural sciences or engineering degree program at an eligible institution, or employed as a postdoctoral fellow in the natural sciences or engineering at an eligible institution. The NSERC Indigenous Student Ambassadors grant is $2,500. It supports science-promotion work with Indigenous communities and schools, including sharing research and education experiences or participating in science promotion events.

Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected/refugee status holders, or international students enrolled full- or part-time in the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science who are single mothers and demonstrate financial need may apply. University of Guelph students registered in any program in the College of Biological Science, the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences, or the College of Engineering who have completed at least 2.5 credits, and who meet the government-mandated terms for an OTSS award, may apply. One award of $1,500. Selection is based on financial need. Apply by October 7 with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form. Established on behalf of the Van Loon family in honour of parents John and Margaret Van Loon.

For undergraduate students in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University in their second, third, or fourth year who have completed at least one co-op term and are in good academic standing. One bursary of $1,000 is awarded annually in any term, based on demonstrated financial need. Apply through SFU Financial Aid when eligible.

Graduate students enrolled in any natural or applied sciences program at the University of Windsor with a minimum cumulative average of 80% may apply. Candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons. This award is designated for a mature married student with family or other responsibilities. Second- through final-year full-time undergraduates in computer engineering, computer science, or software engineering at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering with a CGPA of 6.0 or higher and IM/IT leadership qualities. One of the two awards is reserved for a student who self-identifies as a woman. Two awards of $1,000 each. Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uoZone by November 3 with a 500-word letter on leadership. These awards recognize students who exemplify the Association of Public Sector Information Professionals (DPI) motto of taking care of business, people, and technology.

Female full-time students in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and demonstrate financial need. The award is $500. Apply via uoZone with the Financial Questionnaire. Deadline November 3.
