About this scholarship

The WSU National Merit Scholarship provides an estimated $50,000 over four years to National Merit Finalists who enroll at Wichita State University. Finalists must submit a complete WSU admission application by March 1 of their senior year, become fully admitted in a degree-bound program, and designate Wichita State as their first-choice school with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by May 1. The award replaces Freshmen Merit scholarships but may combine with college scholarships up to cost of attendance. Recipients renew by maintaining a 3.50 cumulative GPA, completing 15 credit hours each fall and spring, and participating in major and student-involvement organizations.
