William and Nona Heaslip Scholarship

Domestic undergraduate students (Canadian citizens or permanent residents) entering their second year in the Faculty of Arts at UBC Vancouver may apply. Candidates must demonstrate financial need through receipt of a government student loan, along with strong first-year academic performance (minimum 75% average), community involvement, and leadership.

Two scholarships of $15,000 per year are offered by The William and Nona Heaslip Foundation, with the donors' contribution matched in part by the Faculty of Arts. The award is renewable for a maximum of three years, worth up to $45,000 in total.

Applicants submit a personal statement (maximum 500 words), a resume, and one reference letter to the Faculty of Arts. Applications for the 2025W cycle are due February 18, 2026. Recipients are selected on the recommendation of a selection committee within the Faculty of Arts.
