University Scholars is a freshman merit award at Southern Methodist University for students with strong academic credentials and personal achievement reviewed holistically during admission. The scholarship provides up to $40,000 total, distributed up to $10,000 per year or $5,000 per term for eight terms or until graduation. Students receive consideration automatically through the SMU admission application and are notified in their financial aid offer.
