About this scholarship
University Named Scholarships are donor-established, need-based grants awarded to Penn undergraduates as part of their financial aid package. Most funds are endowed and assigned to students who meet donor-stipulated criteria such as school, major, or background, in addition to demonstrated financial need. Penn does not offer merit scholarships; named scholarships replace or supplement general Penn Grant funding within the overall aid package. Recipients are selected automatically by Student Financial Services when they apply for financial aid; no separate named-scholarship application is required for most funds.
