About this scholarship
UMBC offers four-year general merit scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 per year to incoming first-year students, including in-state, out-of-state, undocumented, DACA, and international students. No separate application is required beyond the UMBC admission application. Consideration is based on cumulative averages, individual grades, high school program rigor, and optional SAT or ACT scores. Students who apply for fall admission by November 1 receive guaranteed scholarship review, with offer letters sent in late December.
