About this scholarship
The CUNY Thomas Tam Scholarship honors Dr. Thomas Tam, former CUNY Board of Trustees member and founding executive director of the Asian American / Asian Research Institute. The $1,000 award goes annually to one qualified CUNY undergraduate student, Asian or non-Asian, who demonstrates creativity in communicating concerns of the Asian American community in health, education, culture, media, or advocacy. Projects may take the form of written reports, film, video, new media, or performances in the arts and sciences. Applicants describe their project, its goals, implementation, and completion status. Uncompleted or future projects may receive partial awards until finished. Submit applications online by the November deadline through AAARI.
