About this scholarship
This endowed scholarship at NYSID was established by friends and family in memory of Ruben de Saavedra, a NYSID graduate and longtime faculty member who led Ruben de Saavedra Inc. for thirty years. It is awarded to an outstanding MFA student who demonstrates exceptional talent and commitment to design. Graduate applicants compete through the annual NYSID scholarship application and must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA with no violations of the student code of conduct. Full-time enrollment is expected. Awards are determined by a committee appointed by the NYSID President following published first-round deadlines each cycle.
