The Honourable David G. Humphrey and the Honourable Hugh R. Locke Bursary

Osgoode Hall Law School JD students who have successfully completed two years of law study, demonstrate financial need, are Ontario residents and Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and show commitment to a criminal-law career through coursework, clinics (such as the criminal law intensive or Innocence Project), employment, or related plans.

Awarded annually through Osgoode's general bursary application. Amount varies. Funds were matched by the Ontario government.

The bursary honors David G. Humphrey ('50) and Hugh R. Locke ('54), leading Toronto criminal lawyers later appointed to the bench, whose service to criminal law in Ontario spanned more than 40 years.
