About this scholarship
The Carthage College Teacher Education Scholarship awards one full-tuition scholarship per year to an incoming freshman intending to major in education. Carthage's Teacher Education Program merges theory and practice, placing candidates in local schools early to observe, plan, and teach. Eligible majors include elementary and middle school education, secondary education, cross categorical special education, and K-12 licensure areas such as art, languages, music, and theatre. Submit admission application, Teacher Education Scholarship application, and one-page essay explaining why you want to become a teacher by December 3. Finalists attend a February second-round campus event.
