About this scholarship
The Tarleton State Promise Program provides a last-dollar grant to first-time freshmen who meet income and academic criteria. After scholarships, grants, and exemptions are applied, Tarleton covers remaining tuition, required fees, a meal plan, and a book allowance for eligible students. Requirements include Texas Grant and Pell eligibility, family adjusted gross income of $85,000 or less, graduation in the top 50 percent of the high school class, and full-time enrollment of 12 credits. Students must complete both the FAFSA and General Scholarship Application. The award renews up to four years with satisfactory academic progress, generally a minimum 2.75 GPA and 12 credit hours per semester.
