About this scholarship
The Stephen Joel Trachtenberg Scholarship provides a full four-year award covering tuition, room and board, books, and fees for up to ten outstanding graduating seniors from District of Columbia high schools each year. Candidates must be D.C. residents attending accredited D.C. public, charter, or private schools, apply to GW by January 5, submit the FAFSA and CSS Profile, apply for D.C. TAG when eligible, and receive a counselor nomination by January 10. Selection includes academic record, leadership, service, an essay, and an interview. Scholars participate in cohort programming and must maintain satisfactory academic progress to renew.
