About this scholarship

The STEP-UP Student Scholars Program at Central Carolina Community College is an NSF-funded scholarship for students in Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties who demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA and pursue associate degrees in science, math, or engineering. Eligible programs include Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering, computer information technology, computer engineering technology, electronics engineering technology, laser and photonics technology, mechanical engineering technology, and bioprocess technology. Applicants need a minimum 2.6 GPA, two letters of recommendation (at least one from a STEM instructor), and a short essay. Scholars must maintain a 2.6 GPA and file the FAFSA annually to retain funding from year one to year two without reapplying.
