About this scholarship
The Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program at UMBC supports first-year students of all majors with a strong interest in public issues and careers in government, policy, law, healthcare, environmental sustainability, or nonprofit leadership. In-state students may receive $5,000 to $15,000 per year and out-of-state students $10,000 to $22,000 per year for four years. Scholars participate in service-learning, internships, activism, and research alongside communities. Additional funding may support internships, study abroad, and conferences. The separate scholars application is due January 15.
