About this scholarship
The SOAR Scholarship awards five hundred dollars per academic year, totaling two thousand dollars over four years, to first-time freshmen who attend a Fairmont State SOAR Scholarship event. Events are held across West Virginia and surrounding states between December and February each year. To qualify, students must have no prior college experience beyond dual enrollment, submit a general admission application before the event, attend a SOAR event in person, complete the university's general scholarship application by the deadline, and enroll in classes by August 1.
